Bears

It was late September. I was working on a movie about the White Spirit Bears on the BC coast. I learned that these endangered bears were close by and almost ready to retire for the winter. I hopped on a puddle jumper flight up the coast to Klemtu, inhabited by a small first nations community. With the help of my new friend Douglas, a bear guide and now the acting chief of the Kitasoo/xai'xais people, we went searching for these incredible bears. We were truly blessed to spend three days around this beautiful white mama and her two baby black cubs. I was fortunate to have visited this area a few times and my bear karma held strong. This land is our to preserve and protect.
